New Spirit Releases - August 23, 2024 - Bardstown Bourbon Co., SirDavis, and More!

This High Wheat Bourbon is a new addition to the brand's estate-distilled Origin Series with 100% of production including distilling, aging, and bottling handled by the brand in Bardstown. Here, a bourbon mash bill with a high percentage of wheat is used in the production (53% corn, 39% wheat, 8% malted barley). Aged for 6 years, this is bottled at 106 proof (53% ABV). This is the fourth release and the second wheated bourbon in the Origin Series following their Bottled in Bond Bourbon made with 20% wheat. Availability for this new core offering begins August 2024. This bottling was made in partnership with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy which selected Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling for both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg Scotch whiskies, to lead this whisky's creation. Distilled in Indiana using a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, it was then sent to Texas where it finished its maturation in sherry casks. SirDavis is named in honor of Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter’s paternal great-grandfather, who was a farmer and a moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition. Bottled at 44% ABV, it's available in September 2024 at US retailers as well as select airports (JFK, LAX, SFO) and stores in London, Paris, and Tokyo. (SRP $89)

This 2024 bottling of Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon marks the 10th anniversary release for the brand. Master Distiller Donnis Todd selected barrels aged at least 8 years using his most prized and rare barrels for this release. Marking the occasion, a total of 10,000 bottles were produced with the first 1,000 bottles reserved for devoted fans attending a special event at the distillery on September 21, 2024. The remaining 9,000 bottles will be available across the country by the first week of October 2024. Bottled unfiltered and uncut at 140.2 proof. (SRP $279.99)

Crafted by Master Blender Melinda Maddox, this release is a new addition to the brand's Cask Finish Series. Beginning with Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey (95% wheat, 5% malted barley) aged for 6 years, the whiskey is then finished for 6 months to 1 year in French Limousin oak Cognac casks. Bottled at 95 proof, it's available nationwide beginning August 2024. (SRP $89.99)

The fifth release in the Chattanooga Whiskey's limited edition barrel finishing series features a whiskey made from a blend 5 bourbon mash bills, including the brand's classic wheated and roasted mash bills. It's aged for over four years including the 6 months in pinot noir casks. These pinot noir finishing casks were selected from the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. Available in select markets beginning August 2024 and at the brand's Experimental Distillery in downtown Chattanooga. (SRP $59.99)

Redemption Sur Lee was influenced by the French winemaking technique called "sur lie" — wine aged with the lees (mostly dead yeast cells). Here, Redemption uses the backset that comes off the still during distillation which they are calling "whiskey lees." These whiskey lees are placed into the barrels before aging and then the barrels are periodically rotated to keep the whiskey interacting with the lees. Redemption Sur Lee is bottled without chill filtration at 94 proof. Originally released as limited edition in October 2022, this was added as a permanent addition to the brand's Specialty Series in August 2024. (SRP $59.99)
