New Spirits Releases - June 17, 2022

This is the first limited edition release for Brother's Bond, a whiskey brand founded by American actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Distilled and aged in Indiana, this cask strength bourbon is made from a batch of 70 selected barrels. Uncut and unfiltered, it's bottled at 57.9% ABV and will be available beginning mid-July 2022 as a presale on ReserveBar with retailers to follow shortly after.

This limited edition expression has been released to commemorate the 135th Anniversary of the Mitchell family's bonding business which first began in 1887. Aged for 9 years, there are four different types of casks used for aging -- bourbon barrels, sherry butts, Bordeaux wine casks and port pipes, the latter of which is a first for the brand. Available in Ireland, France, the UK, and global travel retail as of June 2022. The US gets its allotment in mid-July 2022.

This is the second whiskey bottling for the Keeper's Heart brand released by O'Shaughnessy Distilling Co. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Crafted by Master Distiller Brian Nation and Liquid Collaborator & Advisor David Perkins, this is blend of Irish and bourbon whiskeys. More specifically, it is a blend of triple pot distilled Irish whiskey, Irish grain whiskey, and bourbon whiskey. Launched in Minneapolis in April 2022, the whiskey was released for online sales and at select retailers in the US as of June 2022. This is a permanent addition to the brand's portfolio.

Launching in June 2022, this limited edition bottling is the first whiskey released from Playboy Spirits. Fittingly, the brand name evokes the Playboy bunny logo and the year 1953 marks the year Playboy was founded. The whiskey is a 17 year-old straight bourbon which is finished in XXO Cognac casks. Each bottle is individually numbered and is packaged in a commemorative box with an NFC chip enabling owners access to the Rare Hare Society. Bottled at 111 proof, there will be 1,953 bottles available for the US and 1,953 bottles for Asia & Europe.

Crafted by bartender Mannie Monaghan, winner of the brand's 2019 Circle bartending program, and whiskymaker James Saxon, the blended Scotch whisky is meant to evoke the color of coral. The makeup is as follows: 50.4% Glen Elgin single malt (primarily recharred American oak barrels), 17.3% Speyburn single malt (refill hogshead), 14.3% blended Scotch parcel (primarily 1st fill sherry butt), 13.5% Teaninich single malt (1st fill sherry butt), 2.3% Linkwood single malt (refill puncheon - STR barrique), and 2.2% Ardmore single malt (1st fill sherry hogshead). Availability begins online via the brand's website in June 2022 and the US gets its allotment in July 2022.

Rock Island is a blended malt brand from bottler Douglas Laing & Co featuring single malts from the Isles of Arran, Islay, Jura and Orkney. After the brand has blended the malts together, this limited edition bottling was further aged in ex-mezcal casks for an undisclosed period of time. Mezcal casks have only been allowed in Scotch whisky production since 2019. Limited production of 1500 bottles available as of June 2022 in Europe, Americas, and Asia Pacific markets.

This is one of three single cask expressions in the Benriach Cask Edition series released exclusively in the US, a first for the brand. Each of the single malt casks were selected by the brand's Master Blender Rachel Barrie. This cask was distilled in 2009 and it matured for 12 years in an Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon cask. It's bottled with its natural color at a cask strength of 58.2% ABV. Availability is limited to 642 total bottles for the US markets of CA, KY, Or, WA, GA, MA, and NY beginning June 2022.

This is one of three single cask expressions in the Benriach Cask Edition series released exclusively in the US, a first for the brand. Each of the single malt casks were selected by the brand's Master Blender Rachel Barrie. This cask was distilled in 1998 and it matured for 23 years in an Marsala wine hogshead cask. It's bottled with its natural color at a cask strength of 55.4% ABV. Availability is limited to 264 total bottles for the US markets of AZ, CO, IL, DE, DC, FL, MD, MN, NV, PA, SC, and WI beginning June 2022.

Each of the single malt casks were selected by the brand's Master Blender Rachel Barrie. This cask was distilled in 1997 and it matured for 24 years in an oloroso sherry puncheon cask. It's bottled with its natural color at a cask strength of 55.4% ABV. Availability is limited to 641 total bottles for the GA, MA, NY, and additional major markets in the US beginning June 2022.
