Tastes

A little pricey where I live, but worth every penny in my eyes. Smooth, orange, caramel, and a finish that never ceases to linger for me. It's my current favourite bourbon as someone who's just finding their footing in the world of bourbon. I look forward to trying the double oaked to see how it compares.

Inititally I was unimpressed by this due to its straightforward, spicy notes, and the very thin mouthfeel. Coming back to it I was greeted with a lovely minty taste on my palette, before the typical bourbon finish.

Inititally preferred this to Bulleit, which is a testament to how much I enjoy WT101. After returning to this again I have to say I'm a little let down by this bourbon. The best summary is that it's a diluted 101, maybe a little sweeter. Inititally gentle on my palette, but it has a slightly harsh after-taste. It's not bad by any means, but for the price there's zero reason to buy this over the 101 considering the negligible price difference in most locations. If the 101 isn't your thing then this definitely won't change your mind. Might be good for mixing but it'll likely be too tame for some in every regard. Hopefully the next time I try this I'll appreciate it a bit more.
