Laphroaig 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 27, 2020 (edited August 1, 2020)Beautiful rich golden straw color. Medium smoke on the nose, with a strong backbone of sea brine and a hint of warm heather. The palate opens with a smooth, moderately oily mouthfeel and a rich forward note of camphor and peat; not overly harsh, but very prominent. This gives way to more subtle aromas and flavors of warm caramel and a faint hint of oaked vanilla. There are many other layers in this gorgeous expression, however I have noticed that they are continually different depending on the ambient temperature when the spirit is enjoyed. -
