Tastes

Light. Fruity. Apple.

Smell: Caramel, corn syrup Taste: thick, sweet, caramel, vanilla, hint of malt. Finish: long. Thick. Nutty. Hint of cinnamon How: neat or dash of water Note: excellent. Not as syrupy sweet as as the Coffey malt. Complex.

Note: A good Japanese Single Malt. A bit young. Nose: Vanilla, roasted nuts, caramel. Taste: Maple, sweet, nutty, dry and oaky, mid finish. Finish: Nutty. Dry. How: Neat or drop of water

Note: Tasty and holds tremendous promise for an American Single Malt but rather expensive and just tastes young and a bit too sweet. Smell: Toasted cereal, vanilla, citrus( or apple?) Taste: Sweet, syrupy, creamy, warm, cherry. Finish: Hint of dark caramel/coffee, mild oaky dryness, cinnamon, mid finish.

Note: Unbalanced, young. Peat hides the hint of coffee found in their standard whiskey. Has promise but feels like they are trying to copy Islay Scotch more than trying to do their own thing. Nose: Cereal, toasted nuts, modest peat, smokey without savory Taste: Sweet, thick and syrupy, modest peat/smokey, dark fruit, cinnamon Aftertaste: Dry, moderate cinnamon burn. Short finish.

Note: Excellent example of Irish Pot Still. Nose: Apples, hint of cherry, malt/cereal Taste: Red apples, short bread cookie, buttery-creamy, oily, long finish. Warm. How: Neat, Water-increases fruitiness but thins it too much.

Note: A good peated blend at a great price. Nose: light peat, vanilla, raisins, oak Taste: Sweet. Honey. Lightly Smokey, plums, oak. Cinnamon. Mid finish. How: Neat.

Note: Interesting finished bourbon. Overhyped. It's good, not great. Nose: Dark fruit-raisins, vanilla, oaky Taste: Sweet, raisins, cherries, vanilla, caramel. Finish: Cinnamon spice,mid-finish, oak-dry How: Neat or with single ice cube. Good for cocktails

Note: Excellent Campbeltown. Nose: Dark fruit, light smoke, pears Taste: citrus, light smoke, peppery, oily, salty. Long finish. How: neat or with water.

Note: It's a good standard Speyside Single Malt. Not complex but decent for the price. Nose: Pears, apple, malt and honey. Hint of vanilla. Taste: Honey, Hint of caramel, vanilla, hint of citrus. Warm. Mid finish with a hint of oak. No significant aftertaste or complexity. How: Neat. Cocktail's are ok.
