Candy corn, maple and baking spices make up the nose on this super affordable starter bourbon from Bartons. Simple corn and wonderful oak finish off this great everyday offering with minimal burn.

The nose on this one is interesting. I get strong nuttiness, with a backwash of vanilla and what some people call baking spices... first sip brings out a little more of the nut that I picked up, with Oak and heavier spices pushing through. It has a nice smooth mouthfeel, it starts with a medium burn as soon as it hits your throat and warms the whole way down. For the price and availability, a decent option for a bottled in bond.

An abundance of sweet and spicy on the nose with large amount of cherry and Oak as you pull away. The first taste is robust upfront, but immediately goes smooth as it passes your taste buds. Vanilla start you off, then the Finish is almost minty before you get a brief hint of pepper and then it dissipates. A good bonded showing from the Jim Beam distillery.

Nose of baking spices and char... Taste, pretty much the same, with the addition of black pepper. Fair burn the whole way through. Not the worst, or the best BIB, but for the price, I expected more...

Alcohol forward, but with heavy, deep, spicy/sweet caramel notes with first whiff. With first taste however, it's creamy on the tongue and hits the taste buds with a beautiful charred Hickory that you wouldn't expect from the brand. The finish is smoother than I expected, and is gone as quickly as as the tastes began. I can see why this has been getting such great reviews. For the money especially, one of the best BIBs I've had.

Grainy and and nice sweet corn on the nose. Following up with similar tastes this is a great entry level rye.
