Smoky and delicious. But can we just pause and recognize that the Lannister's wouldn't have an Islay distillery... Just saying, this send more like a stark, or Mormont... Just saying..

Aroma is buttery short bread, and sea salt. Flavor is the same. Buttery short bread, with a hint of fruit in the finish, and perhaps almond extract. A touch hot. A good whiskey for sure, but the price point left me expecting more subtlety and nuance.

Thanks Samm for this bottle! Year 2020, batch 2, bottle 567. Aroma is dark berry and fruit. Flavor is a touch waxy with notes of caramel, and oak. Lots of wood character.

Aged 12 months. Barrel #53. Bottle 34. Filled by FF. Honey in color, still corn in the aroma, flavor is more mellow with some berry sweetness, and a touch of smoke. The ash character of the younger expression has dissipated, which is a good thing. Almost some sherry notes in the finish. This is the most smoke I've tasted in an American whiskey in quite some time, and I rather enjoy it.

Aged 4 1/2 months. Barrel #2. Bottle 58 filled by DT. Chardonnay in color. Smell is lightly fruity with some higher alcohol notes. Flavor is a touch hash, with corn flavor present. There is a touch of smoke, but also an ashy flavor. Finish is mild vanilla, and earthy. I've had the 12/mo aged as well, and it is a different beast. Much more subtle, complex, and mellow. Still, for being only 4.5/mo. this whiskey is superior to many distilleries that age for 2-3 years and charge more.

Warehouse W-L, floor F-03, Rick R-027. Virginia ABC barrel selection #4 2019. Rye character and higher alcohol in the aroma. Wonderful rye character with caramel and vanilla. I mean.. geeze.. this is fucking good.

Nutty, with brown sugar. Wood and spice with a dry finish.

Sweet dark wine in the aroma. This tastes a lot like the sherry call, but with more alcohol burn. Dry finish.

Berry aroma, and butter. Sweet with berries and cream. Finish is buttery but sweet.

Aroma is short bread and vanilla. Perhaps a touch of ash, definitely shower bread. Finish is buttery.
