Tastes

I enjoy this dram. Warm with enjoyable barrel notes and some side-of-the-tongue tingles I associate with rye. Finish is quick. Many of the people that have tried it describe it as dry.

Mild on the pallet and very tasty. The more I sip the more a rye flavor comes through. Never turned down when I show up with it. A good solid dram for the price.

A good spirit to introduce non whiskey drinkers to ryed bourbons. The low proof makes it more approachable and the flavor profile is inoffensive and presents the rye flavor. I found it boring and lackluster but people I have shared it with really liked it.

When this expression first hit I loved it and consumed lots of it with cola as the strong barrel notes held up well. Anymore I tend to avoid this dram. Neat the whiskey is interesting but not something I enjoy.

The proof and heat make this a slow sipper and not an easy drinker. Stands up to mixing. Not as sweet as some others but that may be the heat overpowering the sweet.

Very drinkable neat or mixed. I enjoy a ryed bourbon and this is a favorite of mine. Sweet and sugary with rye flavor but no heat from proof or from spice.

A pleasant dram for sipping. Lots of wood notes and no spice on the finish. Smooth and pleasant overall. On that boundary where can be sipped neat or mixed.

This bottle has been open for a year or so. Initial notes are proof and barrel. Barrel is mild and tasty. Tingles on the tongue. Just a tiny amount of hug.
