13th Colony Southern Bourbon
Bourbon — Georgia, USA
Reviewed February 16, 2019 (edited December 14, 2020)Stronger than your average bear. The best part is the heat that last 4 seconds longer than most giving all the flavors time to "cook". Exhale through the nose with your mouth slightly open and wow. I'm still picking out individual flavors. It's growing on me to be a top ten. Well done for a small distillery.33.0 USD per BottleCordele -
A long finish (surprise) that reminded me of cilantro for some reason, not really sweet, not really l. Too much corn for my liking, but that's subjective. The initial on the tongue taste was bland to me, I didn't get anything but water flavor, but after a few sips the above came together. Drank neat @ room temp. This was the first tasting ever based on reviews and more ways are still to be tried (ice, mixed, etc). Nifty bottle.

The jury is still out. My first rye so the flavor is taking getting used to. It's not bad, just different. Will update further into the bottle. Side note: can anyone give me an idea of what I'm tasting? It's so familiar, but I can't place it, like a distant memory you just can't clear up. Update: This is actual growing on me. I like the after hear it's providing. Are there better ryes out there? I am looking forward to it!
