this rye is 100% malted rye which is not very typical in the rye world. Malting this rye whiskey definitely changes the flavor. I get a pilsner beer scent on the nose and what is missing from standard high rye mashbills is that mint flavor and or pickled taste you get from Canadian ryes. Has earthy and grassy taste from its youth and a short finish.

This was is a blend of 50% malted barley and 50% smoked cherry wood. This one has a lot of viscosity for the proof, but quite a long finish. A good amount of tobacco and smokiness This is definitely a fun one to sip on. It reminds me of the Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Cherry Wood for reference.
