Springbank 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed August 11, 2019 (edited December 30, 2019)Semi peated and smoky sweet. With notes of cherries and other more bitter sweet berries. Finish is long, sweet, smoky and slightly biting, but definitely not terrible for a cask strength whisky. The 18 year is what got me started with Scotch. This brings back all those memories and is very much a better experience with a bit more refined palate.99.99 USD per Bottle -
Nose is sweet and slightly flowery, cherry blossomish, the port maturation is immediately and unapologetically evident. Initial tastes are sweet and syrupy. Thick silky mouth feel. Candied oranges and dark chocolate. Maybe slightly nutty. Finish is very long and introduces hints of pepper and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
