Fairly rich sherry and slight honey sweetness up front that fades almost immediately to sherry and oak spice, finishing dry on the tongue. Certainly more richness than Gold or Amber. Good but expensive. While it’s spicier, I’d take Glendronach for a more interesting profile at half the price. $190 in Ontario.

Rich honey, slight caramel and vanilla sweetness surrounded by spicy oak and a hint of molasses rum funk. The rum isn’t as much of an influence as I was hoping for. It’s got good flavour but it’s a little oaky for my taste and it finishes bittersweet. $140 in Ontario.

Creamy honey, pear and a hint of peach sweetness, followed by gentle oak. In between Tomatin 12 Year and Glenrothes Special Reserve in terms of sweetness/creaminess. A good blend, and relatively cheap. $55 in Ontario

Gentle heather honey and bright tree fruit (apple/pear) sweetness. A occasional lingering taste of coffee beans interestingly enough. A small step below Glenrothes Select Reserve as it’s not as sweet or complex. Still a good light scotch, and well priced. $60 in Ontario.

Creamy but thin on flavour. Oak, mild honey and faint fruit sweetness and a suggestion of smoky depth. The foundation of a good dram is there but that’s it. Not bad but it leaves me looking for more. $57 in Ontario.

Smooth with rich creamy caramel, gentle oak and a tiny hint of leather. More complexity and it could be great. As it is it’s easy drinking but a bit lacklustre. $50 in Ontario.

Creamy smooth with light caramel, corn and soft oak. Almost too easy drinking. Decent but forgettable. $28 in Ontario.

I thought it would taste different than your average bourbon but I don’t find that it does. Less corn than average but it’s still the corn sweetness I recognize, along with dry oak and floral spice. I get the wheat but it doesn’t stand out to me. Considering the profile I get I’ll stick to wheated bourbon. $53 in Ontario.

Smooth mouthfeel with green apple sweetness and fruit acidity (almost green apple candy, which I love), soft oak and a hint floral. $66 in Ontario.

Simple and smooth with oak, corn and light caramel sweetness. Nothing special but considering how cheap it is it’s decent. It’s an ideal light profile mixer than I could still enjoy on its own. $30 in Ontario.
