Pasote Tequila Reposado
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed October 28, 2017 (edited March 18, 2022)Like a smoother, reposado version of Siempre. Sweet vegetal agave, brine, and a hint of peppery spice. While it's got good flavour it's a bit dry and salty for my taste. $91 in Ontario."91.0 CAD per Bottle -
A huge hit of leather, rich toasted oak, toffee, and a bit floral. Kind of like Blanton’s, turned up to 11, more leather. Excellent flavour. It packs a punch but it’s certainly not as harsh as the ABV would suggest. Unfortunately it’s hard to find... $100 in Ontario.100.0 CAD per BottleDoor FiftyFive

It is as advertised (by Bowmore themselves as well as Stephanie's review). Dark as night fruit and honey sweetness, chocolate, and Bowmore's characteristic peat smoke. Dark, sweet and salty. It’s smoother than the 15 year but it’s still a little unrefined. A little dark/heavy for my taste. $127 in Ontario.127.0 CAD per Bottle

Glenfarclas 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 10, 2017 (edited October 21, 2024)Light. It starts floral and young and finishes dry and slightly herbal. It’s one redeeming note is the fleeting sherry sweetness in the middle (that also lingers nicely in the aftertaste). Neither soft enough to be comfortably simple or complex enough to be interesting. $75 in Ontario.75.0 CAD per Bottle -
Auchentoshan Three Wood
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 9, 2017 (edited October 21, 2024)Dark muddled flavours of brown sugar, dark chocolate, rich sherry, and heather honey. It’s kind of like a mix of dark Irish whiskey and aged rum. It’s sweet and syrupy but at the same time a little floral and spicy. The underlying flavour is good but it’s too dark/heavy for my taste. Like Glendronach 12 Year is to Bowmore 15 Year, this is similar, less floral, without peat compared to Bowmore 18 Year. $80 in Ontario.80.0 CAD per Bottle -
I agree with many of you. There's nothing offensive about it, but it's bland. It's mostly oak and honey, with muted sherry and a hint of smoke. Like Glendronach 12 Year it's a bit unrefined. But where Glendronach has rich dark fruit and sherry, here you get honey sweetness. For 3/4 of the price I'd take Glendronach any day. I know it's entry level for the brand but it isn't worth the price tag. $100 in Ontario.100.0 CAD per Bottle

Tyrconnell 10 Year Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed September 30, 2017 (edited August 17, 2018)The sherry is front and centre but it doesn’t tame the traditional Irish Whiskey spice and floral/oak. The sherry finish is a welcome change. If it was half the price and/or smoother it would be worth purchasing. $99 in Ontario.99.0 CAD per Bottle -
Zaya Gran Reserva 12
Aged Rum — Trinidad & Tobago
Reviewed September 22, 2017 (edited September 13, 2019)Definitely vanilla, but not like you may expect. It’s not fake, cloying vanilla sweetness but a hint of rich, pure vanilla extract, maybe a hint of maple, and a delicious funky wood note. Equal quality to Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. Less spiced, more tropical fruit/fruit tea. $70 in Ontario.70.0 CAD per BottleBarChef
