La Venenosa Sierra del Tigre (Orange Label)
Raicilla — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed May 6, 2022 (edited July 8, 2022)Aromas of smoky agave mostly sweet. Vanilla for sure. Flavors are smoke up front followed by an acidic tart and sweet fruity flavor. Finish is medium with agave aftertastes. Good.Taqueria Habanero -
In honor of Cinco de Mayo. Aromas are off. Maybe that’s sour agave. Buts definitely sour something. Stewed veggies left on the counter for a day. The first touch on the tongue is immediately hot. Then that same veggie aroma comes in as a flavor. Sour and offensive. Then more heat. Harsh burn that luckily doesn’t last long. But a chemical after taste does remain. I might only use this to clean my wound if shot off a horse in the Mexican desert.

Aromas of strawberry marshmallows. Sweet cream. A little alcohol. Probably tequila. Flavors are not the Strawberry Quik I had imagined but more of a muted strawberry with a vanilla finish. The finish is short. The mouthfeel is full. Just the right touch or burn to make this decent. Interesting and different.

Aromas of agave. Cooked veggies. Vanilla. Slight cream soda. Flavors not nearly nice. First flavor is just a touch of vanilla. Then the burn comes on hard and strong. Overwhelms everything. No more sweetness. No more agave. Just hot heat that eventually fades to a chemical aftertaste leaving me with thoughts of bitter plastic.

Aromas of cold sweet coffee. Some roastiness and some alcohol aroma too. Taste like I let my 5 year old add sugar to my coffee. Way too sweet. Cloying. Super thick and syrupy. Might make a good mixer but tough to drink neat unless you wanna chew. The finish is a little bit redeeming. There’s a ver nice acidic tang that pairs well with the alcohol. I’ll add some ice and see if I can thin it to a more reasonable liquid.

Casamigos Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Highlands, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 29, 2022 (edited June 10, 2022)Aromas are very sweet. Cotton candy. Vanilla ice cream. Butterscotch. It’s the butterscotch that I get on the palate first. With lots more vanilla and sweet sweet tones throughout. Some alcohol burn at the finish too.Mezcalero Cocina Mexicana
