Reviewed April 24, 2017 (edited January 25, 2018)[LOOK] Honey, clear [NOSE] Roasted chestnuts, medical sanitizers, lurking stewed apples/pears, pecan shell, cinnamon sugar, anise, sour peat [PALATE] Stone fruit pit, kiwi skin, graham cracker, smoked fish, sweet on the edges, center is peaty and green smoke [FINISH] Long, soft, prickly and spicy, develops wood char and smoke [MOUTHFEEL] Prickly, smooth, oscillates between tender and sharp -
[LOOK] Straw yellow [NOSE] Burnt tire rubber, char grilled meats, golden browned marshmallow skin, slight hickory smoke, roasted malts, with oxygen char fades to cloves, baking spices [PALATE] Charcoal brickettte, beef fat gravy, cracked green peppercorn, cured salmon skin, heavy cream underneath, vague shrouded light sugars [FINISH] Long, BBQ char gives way to smoked fish, then to oven roasted Caribbean spices, residual smokiness wanders between different flavors [MOUTHFEEL] Loads of barrel char and smokiness, almost overwhelmingly so, flavor movement and dynamic nature of smoke/char keeps it fresh, interesting
