Wolfburn Northland
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 2, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Slightly briny on the nose, but not on the palate. Palate is rich, with a malty sweetness. Peppery and abrupt finish. -
Ailsa Bay Single Malt Whisky
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 15, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Relatively light peat, giving a nice campfire feel, accompanied by slightly sweet green grass and a solid load of hickory. And a velvety, round mouthfeel. Really not that bad. -
Torn about this one. When I first opened the bottle, it was an experience to behold. A bit of leather and tobacco, making you feel like you’re sitting on the porch in a rocking chair, enjoying the sunset. But since the bottle has been open for a while, the front of varnish is becoming ever stronger and I’m not the biggest fan. Also, avoid ice in this. It brings out some strange bitterness.
