Nose: Light floral sweetness. Also some fruitiness - maybe pear. Clear undertones of malted barley. ⠀ Taste: Oaky vanilla, yummy glazing, a little bit of orange. Slightly sweet barley notes. Silky texture and mellow but pleasant flavors. The finishing notes are gentle, with mostly a fruity sweetness. It's also a a little bit dry. There is some heat. The finish isn't very long flavor-wise, but leaves the tongue a little numb and dry. ⠀ It's a gentle single malt but tastes quite nice and everything feels very well balanced, from the sweetness to the texture to the heat. The finish could be longer, but I'm not surprised given that this bottle is only 40% ABV. I believe I prefer this to the Glenlivet 12, but I'll have to compare them head-to-head at some point. Either way, I can see why this is truly a classic.
