Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed October 8, 2022 (edited July 15, 2023)B2/19 bottle kill. I like and appreciate this much more at the end of the bottle than I did at the beginning. It’s basically the regular 12 on steroids. It’s still too hot, a splash of water makes it just about right. Shortbread, biscuits, honey, berries, malt and spices. Yummy. -
Plantation Trinidad 2009 (Scarlett Ibis)
Aged Rum — Trinidad
Reviewed October 4, 2022 (edited October 23, 2022)Initially quite spicy, peppery and hot. Big splash of water tones it down and reveals vanilla, honey, mint, coffee, cinnamon and gentian root notes. Long spicy finish. It’s a challenging rum for me to enjoy neat.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Review number 666. Hells bells. Wife broke a tooth last week, so we headed over to Algodones, MX to the dentist. While she was being worked on I decided to explore a little. But, dang it was hot as you know what, 107+ degrees. I ducked into a liquor store and spied this bottle with the Union Jack label. Bartered down to $8.50 for the bottle. I like this whiskey. It’s somewhat sweet, a bit creamy and malty, with honey and cereal grains, easy to drink with a mild finish. Not the best whiskey, not the worst either. Pretty decent for an inexpensive Scotch blend.8.5 USD per Bottle
