Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 18, 2018 (edited September 17, 2018)Got a store pick from R&J in Wichita. Heavy vanilla and orange peel on the nose. The palate was a mix of butterscotch, slight oak, creamy sugar, and salted caramel on a medium long finish. Surprisingly drinkable at 110 proof with little water needed.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Tasted blind next to Old Weller Antique and Elmer T. Lee. Not as bold and unique as the OWA, and not as smooth as the ETL. It played the middle, with a vanilla sweet start and some oak in the back end, made for a great pour, but got lost between the other two, and finished last among the three. Not worth the $100 secondary going rate, but easily worth a retail $35, if you’re ever that lucky...100.0 USD per Bottle
