Sweet nose, candy-like; caramel, candy corn, corn, cotton candy, oak, tequila and white chocolate. Sweet and candy-like on the palate as well; strawberries and cream, caramel, white cake, vanilla, corn and reposado tequila. Lingering finish of tequila, pepper and cake. Very unusual profile. @twostal

I’ve not quite made it to the Mediterranean yet, but I hope it smells like this… Seriously though, it’s a nose from somewhere rich and varied and beautiful. Less herbal and less complex than Gin Mare, but more fruity and tropical. Notes here of sweet oranges, rosemary, flowers, Sprite, thyme and juniper. On the palate it’s rich and sweet, lots of candied orange, with confectioner’s sugar, rosemary, white icing, pine needles and Sprite. There’s a touch of spice at the finish but no real heat. Though personally I think it could benefit from a higher proof, and it’s a little on the sweet side, this is an easy sipper, which of course carries its own value. A steal at 24.99 (on sale for 22.99), it draws my mind somewhere else…más agradable, más relajado, más….…ugh. Recuerdo que desafortunadamente el despertador sonará en la mañana… oh well, this will work for now.24.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

The spicy, fruity nose jumps out as I near the glass; cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, caramel, oak, apple, rye and fallen leaves with distant hints of vanilla, flowers and apple. Reminiscent in my mind of fall (not Houston “fall”, but real fall). Smooth on the palate with a little sweetness; cinnamon candy, charred oak, vanilla, apple and some cherry. Spicy and slightly bitter finish. It obviously isn’t old, but it isn’t thin or weak either.

Veneno Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Jalisco , Mexico
Reviewed June 21, 2022 (edited August 8, 2022)There’s something I can only describe as fiery about the nose on this. Not fiery like it burns, but fiery like the smell of a hot clay or brick oven, almost as though it’s still cooking just a little. Clay and roasted agave dominate, though I’m picking up notes of mint and other green herbs, pencil eraser, and some vague, nondescript sweet fruit way down deep. On the palate herbal, peppery and sweet with flavors of agave, vanilla and caramelized sugar and a lingering peppery finish. Enjoyable for sure.79.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed June 20, 2022 (edited July 16, 2022)Caramel, apple, rye, pear, dill, spruce tips, cinnamon and toast on the very fresh nose. Smooth, spicy and sweet on the palate, dominated by rye, but with caramel, toasty, vanilla, apple and peppery flavors. Dry peppery finish. Rich, complex, nice. -
Mini bottle b/c it was near the register and I’d likely never buy a bottle of this. Ehhh on the nose; grain, ethanol, some melon, a dab of honey. On the palate it’s lightly honeyed barley and shrimp shell. And that’s it. Not incredibly offensive but incredibly boring. I’m glad I only got a mini.Total Wine & More

On the nose it’s more or less peppery vodka with just a hint of sugar cane and a bit of leather. On the palate it’s pretty similar; some sweetness and pepper; very cheap vodka-like with hints of citrus rind. It’s just alcohol at the finish. Not offensive like Bacardi, but certainly mixer only.Total Wine & More
