Highland Park 18 Year Viking Pride

Reviewed December 7, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)This is a great whisky. I’ve never tasted the 18 pre-Viking branding so I don’t have any comparison to that. However I have had the 12, 14 and a few NAS from HP. This is the best of that bunch but not by that much. I get a more lingering finish than with the 12 and 14 but frankly those do just fine at their price points. -

Port Askaig 8 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 4, 2019 (edited December 11, 2019)Smoky and peaty. Young. Slight sweetness when the smoke subsides. Good nose, a bit harsh on the front of your tongue. Nice warmth. Reminds me of lagavulin 8 yr. -
Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 1, 2019 (edited December 22, 2019)Nose: musty peat. Light. Sweet. Vanilla. Floral. Peat smoothed out by the sherry. Citrus comes through at the end. Luscious mouth feel. Lovely dram especially at this price point.
