    A swedish distillery whose claim to fame is that it had to change it's name to avoid confusion with compass box so now it's called High Coast Distillery. Aaaanyhow...onto the whisky. Another light fare. Bit of peat and vanilla. Good balance but nothing complex, nice light warming glow at the end.

    Hmm maybe I should have checked out all the other reviews for this distillery before procuring as they weren't that flattering. England's oldest distillery at 14 years old, this is a 5 year old version. Very light vanilla and ethanol.

    Damn cat, last night I served up dinner was standing two paces away distracted on my phone, heard a munching noise and hey ho what do you know he's a fan of goat curry it turns out. Tonight I poured this Cognac got up and came back and he'd knocked the damn thing over. Now if had done it to the last one I wouldn't have cared but cats being cats he did it to my favorite dram of the night. Luckily the glencairn glass was bulbous enough to retain a 1/3rd of it. I was thinking after the last one maybe I'm just over Cognac after an average run but this has restored my faith. Very deep rich flavour. Although well balanced it seems higher abv than it is. Well that's it for the Wed night session..I might go strangle a cat before day 3 brings me new inconvenience in the form of him sticking his fat face in where it isn't wanted...

    Not a bad drop despite it weighing in at 40%. Not really a lot to get excited about just a solid down the middle standard honey, oak, vanilla affair. Decent mouth feel but slightly bitter finish which after a while really bugs me.

    The tasting notes are pretty spot on with this one. Smokey, Grassy nectar, chamomile, caramel and more going on here. I can see why people love this Tequila. For me I personally prefer the Jose Cuervo Reserva De La Familia Tequila which is more full bodied richer and oakey or Mezcal. This is quite a sweet drop with a pure Tequila flavor note as the backbone. Not one I'd drink much of. Still very well constructed.

    Very nice drop. Number 2 on the night after the Bowmore Double the Devil (a clear winner). Very strong honey note, berry creme brulee. Port takes the back seat here. I have a feeling like most Benriachs it would deteriorate pretty quickly once the bottle is open as it doesn't have a lot of oily body to hold back oxegenation of the flavor
