I think this is a fitting end to my whisky collection which once my final remaining bottle gets gifted to a mate makes this my very last bottle kill dram and dram full stop that i have and will no doubt be tasting for a while. Anyhow onto the dram itself. Damn this is good stuff. The bottle only lasted a couple of months and unusually i only gave away a couple of drams. Lovely meadish, honey caramel spice thing going on here. It was consumed often in the same sessions as Springbank 18 and Old version Glendronach 15, '59 McCallum and '71 Mortlach (all sadly and simultaneously RIP in the last couple of weeks replaced promptly by my new worst friend gastritis who always comes to stay when I overdo it!) so it had tough competition. For the $140USD I paid I'd think this is decent value and held up well under the stiff competition. I'd say although I rated 4.5 it's more 4.25 to 4.5. It's just not in the SB 18 4.5 - 4.75 league. Anyhow a '66 kopke port and 3 decent wine bottles Margaret River, Barossa and Gimlett Gravels are my sole remaining drinks. Come NY eve 2021 they will be consumed with friends and my esophagus and stomach will cheer as they enter 2021 with a owner whose drinks cabinet is bare and as they get a well earned break :-). I look fwd to living vicariously through other fine reviewers and reviews on this platform for an undetermined period of time. Slainte!

Bombay Sapphire Gin (47%)
London Dry Gin — England
Reviewed November 9, 2020 (edited March 29, 2021)I procured a few more gin samples from one of my regular online suppliers of which this was one. I quite liked the flavour profile but it did have an ethanolly edge which after I read @ContemplativeFox review was like ah it is like rubber. It's something that's once in your head is hard to not notice. For the price a decent drop however there are much better ones out there. I started on smaller craft batch gins and so most of the mainstream stuff seems a bit of a step down bar ones like Monkey 47. -
Hmm. What I love about Gin is it's diversity...bit of base Juniper and then go for gold. However that does mean is you really aren't sure what exactly the concoction is going to taste like. Now I LOVE lavender..it smells great and grows well suppressing weeds. Birds nest in the bushes we have on our property. However just because you love the smell of something doesn't mean your'll like the taste of it and man do I really NOT like drinking lavender. Needless to say this one is not for me. A good mixer can often save a gin or at least change the profile into a better one but my std go tos aren't saving this one. Roots, Method and Madness, Monkey 47, The Botanist I'd be happy with a bottle this a hard pass for me. Update: New day, clean palate and just not for me. I'm just not a fan of floral gin unless it's got a strong Juniper, Citrus backbone. There was an irish gin with sweet berries or something....Mor it was called.....people also raved about..blarghh. I am now onto Cadrona gin....i should have read the label as I'm now getting assaulted by rosehip...#somedaysyoucantwin

This Belgium gin is the result of a infusion of 15 and based on the distillate of the Old Lindemans Kriek Cuvée René. The latter is brewed with whole cherries, according to Belgian lambic tradition. The gin itself is double distilled in small quantities (a batch of up to 250 litres) in a copper cauldron or alembic. Quite interesting they used beer distillate. It imparts a certain different character to it.

The Bureaucrat Gin
Modern Gin — Wellington, New Zealand
Reviewed October 30, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)Tried this straight along with the rest of their range at a local food show today. Very lemongrass fwd. Would be interesting to see how it paired with tonic. Palate got a bit of a hammering at the show so won't rate it.
