Tastes

I kind of feel like I have to review this whiskey in two different ways. As a whiskey in general it’s sweet and mellow, with a little bite at the end, but overall not that much to it. In the quasi-category of un-aged whiskey though it is definitely one of the better ones.

I knew it was cheap when I bought it. I missed the part on the back of the label where it says it’s 20% Bourbon and 80% neutral grain spirits. There’s lots of vanilla and it’s pretty sweet but that’s kind of the end of it. It almost seems more like a flavored alcohol versus an actual whiskey.

Smooth with a little heat on the finish. Sweet and lots of vanilla and caramel. Kind of too much vanilla and caramel, as if it was almost on its way to being a flavored whiskey.

Can definitely taste the port

Tastes sweet but lightly hot, cinnamon kind of hot but without being a flavored whiskey. I get some wood notes but it still feels like it should be aged more to finish fully developing. A couple more years in a barrel would allow it to grow even more.
