Tastes

A thing of beauty. Peaty, smoky, iodiny, earthy, briney on the nose, on the palate a smoothness divine, with a finish of burnt log. The lingering finish is an affair of some 30 minutes' duration, offering a comforting sensation, where you can sense the elements described above, especially the smokiness, on the retrohale. Outstanding.

Sweet on the nose with characteristic bourbon aromas, smooth on the palate, but not the smoothest finish, which is cherry and dark chocolate, and is short, save for an afterburn. And then it's over. Not a great value at $42.85 in Ontario.

A pleasantly well-peated blended whisky, heather and honey on the nose, and dark cherries on the palate, mildly sweet, and dark chocolate in the finish, which is a bit short. This is a $26 whisky in Ontario (750ml), and that's a phenomenal value. A very solid 3/5.
