Distilled 1999 bottled 2015 4/504 Smokey and rounded sweetness makes this a special lagavulin. It's much more robust than the 16 but not quite there

There are not many whiskies out there that has this much peat on the nose but mellows nicely in the transition to the palate. Malty and brinny. Would give an extra 0.5 star if available

Sweet , fruity and smooth - all good. Aged in 5 different barrels

Fruity sweet and super smooth for a 12

The nose and entry has all the hallmarks of a Yoichi (I am a huge fan of the Yoichi 15) but then the delivery let's you down and you realize it's not. Such a shame considering nikka no longer makes any yoichi except this. If you see any 15s around grab it.

Had this just after a shot of the sherry oak and this is much better and the oak is strong in this one and the finish is ok.

This is heavy on the sherry and it's as strong as the Amrit intermediate sherry but not close in it's delivery. The Amrut was strong but elegant while this was just ok.

On the nose it felt like this wouldn't deliver but on the palate it did. It's a milder grain whisky but good value.

This is sherry over sherry and you can taste the earthiness of the barrels. Had the privilege of having Bottle 24279 at the distillery. Just totally outstanding yet different as I've not had experience such strong sherry infusion into my palate.

Had this again for 600yen at the distillery after 6 years and it's just as good. Milder on the nose and the palate and less peaty than the 12 but outstanding in its finish and elegance
