Little Book Chapter 5: The Invitation
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2022Nose: grain forward. Slight mint and fig with marshmallow. Palette: wow this is good. Sweet with orange marmalade and dark cherry, favoring cherry. Some bright notes from the grain are followed by more complex fruits and pepper spice in the back. The finish is long with cereal that fades to cherry and oak. -
Little Book Chapter 6: To the Finish
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2022Nose: smarmy and grainy. Also has some grassy and apple notes. Palette: wow, this is different. Sweet but more of a savory sweetness, not like honey, maybe molasses. Would go great with brisket. Char is felt on the back, not really smoky, does not taste the proof. The finish reminds me more of smoked meat, that savory flavor, and does not show too much of the young notes. Medium length finish with more char and vanilla. -

Mid is more like fresh baked rye bread with a honey glaze. The finish is medium in length, but has some light oak, maybe licorice and earthy mushroom? Pepper in the back with more grain. Different and fun. -
