Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond 17 Year (Spring 2022)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 23, 2022Nose is rich. Heavy fruit notes like fig and apple, graham cracker. Caramel. Palette: slight sweet with caramel, vanilla, some citrus notes, viscous body that is so well balanced with fruit and oak. The sweet flavors linger long, with more oak. Candied fruit is the best I can do to explain the finish. Excellent. -

Bourbon — USA
Reviewed November 23, 2022Nose: sweet corn and caramel Palette: some cola on the front, taffy, some burn, anise, slight cinnamon, medium length finish. Graham cracker and slight pepper on the back. A few drops of water help to tame the alcohol and bring out the flavors. -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2022 BRT-01
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 18, 2022 (edited November 25, 2022)Sweet licorice nose, very butterscotch-y. Pallet: much more viscous than BRT-02. Not too sweet, but great caramel flavor with a slight hint of vanilla. More wood grain character, almost like you can taste the wheat, like bread, not toast, and cereal. Hints of cherry cordial. Longer finish on this one than 02, guessing more tannins. The body is more enjoyable with the larger temperature swings, brings out more oak flavors. -

Nose: citrus with a single malt note. Faint char and vanilla. Taste: sweet. Not very complex and light bodied. Chocolate shines through on the back palette like a tootsie roll with a hint of cinnamon. Lots of corn. Wish it had more body to it. Finish has good dry tannins, maybe a cheerio note there.

Barrel no 7500, bottle 146, 115.20 proof. Daveco select Some sweet corn and raisin on the nose. Slight grassy note. Mouth feel is different. Slightly sweet with a honey nut up front. Pretty dry, seems like some rye notes coming through with anise and a slight Willett rye note, but not as strong. Medium finish that is nice and dry, oak tannins.
