Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 11, 2020 (edited June 26, 2020)GLENMORANGIE 12YO LASANTA 43% - 2ND TRY - Rich and full-bodied, our signature expression is first aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks for smoothness. We then finish this single malt whisky in hand-selected Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Compared to 10YO and NECTAR, you get a lot more powerful flavours in the nosing. Creamy, caramel, smooth sweet milkiness and pudding-like, very slight peppery, candy-like sweetness 2.75 Creamy pudding, sweet, nutty, smoothness in this, slight bitterness at the back, slightly dry. Do you get the complexity like all other Single Malt - Well No, but what you get is a smooth dessert-like whisky that is easy to drink. If you are looking for something Complex, this is not for you 2.25 Very very light peat, and a cooling finish with a cream-like dessert maltose flavor 2.5 Would I buy it? The boringness of this, I really don't think I would will actively seek this out at a whisky store, but a relatively decent drink. 2.25-2.5 Glenmorangie 12YO LASANTA 43% Spicy, sweet 2 Berries, fruits, spicy 2 Lingering spice 2 -
GLENMORANGIE NECTAR D'OR 46% - 2ND TRY - Glenmorangie's Nectar d'Or is a 12 Year Old whisky finished in Sauternes casks. GLENMORANGIE ORIGINAL 10YO 40% - 2ND TRY - The original expression of our elegant, floral spirit and the real backbone of the Glenmorangie range. A ten-year-old single malt, Glenmorangie Original is produced by marrying the delicate spirit that emerges from Scotland's tallest stills, with first and second fill American white oak casks. Slightness in pepper, sweet caramel, sweet ripe berries, pleasant, sugary, 2.75 Lightness and delicate and insufficient oaking time for the flavor to stand - you do get raisin, berries, smooth, sherry 2.25 Not a long after-taste, but you do feel the dryness of the berries, dont feel any peat, slight bitterness lingering 2 Overall a decent whisky but it is relatively light in the flavor, not suited to the heavy flavours that I would prefer, perhaps enjoyed more by ladies who are not fond of the whisky-traditional flavor 2.25 Glenmorangie original 10YO 40% American oak for 10YO Spicy and peppery, raisin, vanilla note 2.25 Light spiciness, herbs, nutty 2.25 Finish light smooth fire 2.5 2.25

Staoisha 2013 5YO TSC 59.3% - 2nd TRY - high ABV but you do not get that peppery burn, very delicate to the nose. Roasted meat, hearty rosemary marination, lightly roasted over a bbq - this akin to a meal rather than a drink, very pleasant summer bbq smog 4 Smoke Smoke Smoke Everywhere, every part of your mouth is coated with this beautiful Caol Ila like smoke. I won't call this peat, but smooth bbq smoke, roasted nuts, rough musculinity, a little kick of bitterness but nothing that is too hard to swollow. Rating a little lower than I would like because there is nothing more than smoke in this taste 2.75 Roasted meat and bbq - truly a classic beaut 3.5 3.25 Staoisha 2013 5YO 59.3% 3.75 Smoke, bak Kua, sweet, peppery from ABV 3.75 raisin Sweetness , smothering raw heat, creamy milk roll over your tongue 4 Peat that is gentle 4
