It’s a complex wedding for a master distiller to arrange but can ultimately lead to marital bliss in the form of this whisky from Nikka that only comes in 500ml bottles. Nikka From The Barrel is drawn from a blend of more than 100 different batches of malt and grain whisky produced at the brand's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. LIGHT SWEETNESS, FRUITY, FRANGRANCE, NO PEPPER, VANILLA 3.5 IODINE CHEAPNESS FLAVOUR, BUT YOU ALSO CAN TASTE THE COMPLEXITY THAT THIS TRY TO ACHIEVE, IS IT OVERACHIEVING THOUGH. OILY, IODINE, YOU DETECT HINTS OF FRUITINESS, PEAR, PEPPERY HEAT, DRYNESS 2.75 OAKY, DRY, HEAT 1 2.25 CAVEAT THAT THE IODINE MIGHT BE OFFPUTTING FOR ME ON MOST DAYS, BUT ON THE DAYS WHERE I FEEL I CAN TAKE THE PEPPERINESS, SUCH AS WHEN ACCOMPANYING WITH A MEAL THAT IS DULL IN FLAVOR-PROFILE, SOMETHING TO CONSIDER AS ACCOMPANIMENT NIKKA BY THE BARREL 2ND TRY CARAMEL SUGAR, PLEASANT NOSING, SWEETNESS, RED BERRIES, RAISIN, NO BURNS 3.5 INTENSE OAKY, IODINE IS THE WAY I WOULD RELATE TO THIS, BITTERNESS, THE SUGARINESS DOESNT CONVERT FOR ME - DONT TASTE IT AS MUCH AS THE NOSING SEEMS TO PROMISE, A THIRD MOUTH OF THIS SEEMS TO NUMB ME TO THE IODINE, BUT IT IS DRY AND HARSH FOR THE BACK OF THE THROAT 1 CARAMEL BURNT SUGAR, SHORT-MID FINISH, ARTIFICAL SUGARY FINISH 2 1 Nosing: complex whishwash, typical bourbon smell Flavour: nuts, caramel, iodine, saltiness Finish: iodine, no peat 0.5

AN OA Bottled at 46.6% ABV, this is non chill-filtered. Released September 2017 An Oa (pronounced an oh) is a peated Islay single malt comprised of whiskies that were aged in several types of casks of including Pedro Ximenez, virgin oak, and ex-bourbon. These whiskies were then married together in a large French oak vat in Ardbeg's Gathering Room. T - Revisit 4th time - Fragrant, pear, smokey, light, dry soot, sweetness 3.25 Slightly Sweet fragrance, pearish and lightness to it, not very peppery, you get a heavy oaky soot peat, slight dryness, 2.75 Sustained sooty peat, bitterness 2.5 2.75 ARDBEG AN ON 3RD TRY STALE THICK SMOKE, CARAMEL TOASTED SUGAR, LOW PEPPERY, DRY 3 THICK PUNGENT BITTER SMOKE, DARK BITTER CHOCOLATE, NO SWEETNESS IN THE TASTE, CHARCOAL, MEDICINAL, THERE IS NO SWEETNESS IN THIS AND IT IS QUITE A HARSH TASTING.. PROBABLY GOES WELL WITH A SWEET DISH LIKE A DESSERT BUT I SEE IT AS NOT A GOOD DRINK FOR A STANDALONE 1.5/OTHERWISE WITH DESSERT PAIRING POSSIBLY A 3 OAK, LONG, BITTER 1.5 2.5 ardbeg an oa 46.6% Doing this alongside with Corryve & An OA Delicate nosing compared to the 10YO - a little uncharacteristic-less nosing, creamy, lightly roasted 1.5 Bitterness hits at the front and you start to get a slow creeping sweetness that spreads out, nutty, maltiness, dark chocolate 1.75 Mid sustain smoke 2 1.75 Nosing: fiery burn despite the Low ABV Flavour: oakiness, creamy malt that is rich in fats and milds the rest of the taste profile Finish: light peat and Long burn through the back of your throat

ARDBEG CORRY 3RD TRY ROASTED BEEF STEAK, HIGH PEPPERY, CREAMY, SWEETNESS RAISIN BAKED, SMOKEY 3 SOOTY, SMOKEY, BITTER, IODINE 1.25 FINISH SUSTAINED OAKY 2 2 ardbeg corry 57% Doing this alongside with Corryve & An OA Roasted meat, mid pepper, complexity in the nosing, bbq pork 3 Dense nutty, meat bbq, hits at the back with iodine bitterness, second sip and you get a dense chocolate cocoa flavour 3 Long sustained deep chocolate, oaky, smoke 2 2.5 Nosing: fiery hot distinctive of high alc content 57%, burnt raisin and little vanilla perfume Flavour: fiery hot burnt front and back that wakes you better than coffee, herbal, iodine, saltiness Finish: peatiness is relatively light, but scorching hot ending Overall burning sensation is evident
