Balcones Baby Blue

Fruity, clean corn whiskey. Warmth glows up slow, aticks around.

For something different than a typical bourbon this is a very nice change. On the nose I got a melted butter popcorn fragrance. I want to say it was more like kettle corn. On the palate it was like a candy corn flavor with some vanilla and honey. This would not be a daily dram for me simply because of the sweetness. Once or twice a week would be good. It would also be good as a dessert dram after a nice hearty meal. Overall, I like it for a change up once in a awhile.

Sweet Blue corn bourbon from Waco. Not terribly complex but a nice drink for hot weather or even on the rocks. Good to have on the shelf. 9/24/20

Let sit for about 5 minutes. 👀: Pale Golden Color, Thick walled with thin legs; 👃: Cornbread, freshly popped popcorn (with fatty butter) waft, smells like the Jelly Belly Buttered Popcorn jelly bean, lots of sweetness; 👅: Thick and creamy, tastes like drinking the foam off a root beer head, very muted flavors; 🏁: Light finish, no complexity whatsoever, buttery finish at the end.

Butter, blue corn, vanilla, toffee, honey, brown sugar

Silky, nutty, flavors of well-polished wood (like good heirloom furniture). Remarkable oak extraction for being such a young whiskey, but certainly not mellowed out from extended aging.
