Balvenie DoubleWood 17 Year

Everything I love about the 12 but better. Buttery, vanilla, caramel & slight sherry.

I'm between 3.75 and a 4.0 on this one. Interesting that the 'professional' ratings are usually lower than user ratings for this Balvenie. And I can see why. It's a little sweet, lush and almost creamy. It's yummy, fun to drink. Also, I think fairly priced for a 17. Enjoy! 🥃🥃🥃

Nose: floral, vanilla and honey. Palate: sweet, more honey and some.. butterscotch? Bit oily, I enjoyed it a lot, smooth, easy drinking.

Sherry is less intense than the 12. This is a more subtle and rounded version. Smooth and easy drinking, this is at the other end of the scale to the 12. Both are equally good for me but for totally different reasons. 12 is intense, sweet sticky honey and Sherry, this is subtle and beautifully balanced.
