Barrell Seagrass

Just tasty as hell. Apricots and tropical fruit, gummy candy. It’s flavorful and just in your face. This is a dangerous pour. Really really tasty.

Neat. Very fruity! First neck pour. Finish has lingering earthiness / anise. Also just getting over a cold so my palate is way off. Really enjoying this so far. I’ll give it an official review once I let it breathe a bit but so far this is an excellent rye and I’m loving the cask finishes.

Heavy tannins and ethanol up front on the nose gives way to slight vanilla and stone fruit. Light citrus grapefruit giving way to rose hips. Super fruity initial burn on the palate leading to a long warm sensation. Fruitiness gives way to a nice mellow warm finish that lingers for the perfect amount of time. Long clean mild finish that checks all the right boxes. Drinks somewhat lower than its Proof but, fulfills all expectations for high Proof taste desire and newbie Proof concerns. Sits right in the literal”sweet spot” for a high Proof finish. Very complex in all three aspects (nose,taste,finish), resulting in an easy entrance into tasting finer whiskies.
