Sweet nose, with hints of vanilla and spice. Quite a bit of alcohol burn and drying from the tannins from the oak. Reminds me almost of a bourbon, which is pretty much what they aim for. I like this mixed more than neat but it is drinkable by itself, though I think it benefits from a little cold water or an ice cube to help soften it a bit.
Vanilla, cinnamon and burnt brown sugar. Dark grape and cocoa on the nose. Grape, vanilla and berry fruit on the taste. Finishes with burnt sugar and sweet oak noted. A very much bourbon lover's Brandy. Great intro to a new American style.
Drinks more like a higher end bourbon due to age in oak barrels. Smooth for the higher proof and has a subtle sweet finish at the end to remind you its a Brandy.
