Dewar's White Label

Very light yellow in color. Some light apple aroma, but the alcohol overwhelmed it. First test is a soft caramel with a touch of brown sugar. Some apple notes then come through. Finish is very much the apple pie. Alcohol seems pretty prominent for 80 proof. Some slight bitter notes come in late. A touch of water really allows the apple notes to sweeten up even more. Not bad, but definitely a mi grade Scotch.

Maybe ok in a Highball and if you already had a couple of drinks. I would never drink it neat or on the rocks. Pretty bare bones speed rail quality Scotch

Review was performed at 30% left in the bottle after 9 months. Nose: Pear, honey, harsh ethanol, light oak, and a bitey leather Taste: Sweet pear and honey, with a small amount of smoke and sherry influence. There is a displeasing astringency present when really focusing on the flavors. Over time, the smoke has died down a bit and the fruit notes have faded from this whiskey. It is most definitely worse off than it was when the bottle was freshly opened. The harshness of the ethanol has been present in every pour. Great for mixing and easy consumption, but not a blended whiskey I would spend time trying to discover nuance in.
