Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon

Neat: Peanuts, cinnamon, vanilla, woody, fruity. Decent

For the price you really can't go wrong. I get cinnamon, a bit of apple pie, some wood flavor and nuttiness as well. I would have liked to get those notes that I found in the nose, but still, it's a nice above average bourbon.

Classic Heaven Hill Vanilla and caramel nose Sweet sugar, vanilla Palate. Finish; Harsh young corn whiskey burn and finish that I get especially from young Heaven Hill products. Spurge and spend the extra ten buck on Elljah Craig 94 proof

This is a bargain for the proof point and availability. On the noise I get the typical peanut notes that come from Evan Williams. However I do get a very nice sweet note of vanilla frosting and a hint of cinnamon. Like the 86 proof sweet up front with peanut notes but this is more of a peanut brittle taste and less peanut shell. Surprisingly less spice and burn on the palate, there is faint oak and a slight barrel char note on the finish. All in all I would rate this a little higher then the 86 and it makes a great old fashioned with cherry bitters.

Nice golden hue and averages legs coating the glass. Nose is cereal grain and light brown sugar. Corn syrup, cereal grain, vanilla oak, a little tannic char in the mouth. Dry, some spice, and a hint of ethanol in a short-ish finish. Sour lingers. For $18, it's a very (really!) serviceable 90 proof bourbon aged 6-8 years(?) maybe. But... I'm missing the hype of the Distiller reviewer on this one.
