George Dickel 15 Year Tennessee Single Barrel

What a rich and enjoyable bourbon!

Sweet at first with hints of cinnamon and coconut followed by a quick burn

Toasted dark oak and toffee with spices and maybe some brown sugar on the nose. Taste comes in oak forward with caramel but still heavy on the spice like the standard Dickel but a little darker and more complex. Maybe some cinnamon as it progresses and with some spices. Medium burn but good and not too hot, quite good when sipped more slowly. As I’ve tasted this it’s grown a lot on me. It’s less sweet and more oaky which makes it appealing when that’s the taste I’m after.

Butterscotch and vanilla on the nose. Very nice! Cinnamon and oak on the taste. Water and/or ice really change the finish in a nice way. Neat or on a big rock, this is a solid “Whisky”

Slightly mineral as would be expected. Spice leather tobacco and char on the palate. Warmth lingers on the finish. This is a 100.4 proof bottle.

Very easy sipper. Sweet, a little spicy and a fruity finish.

Caramel and corn on the nose. The palate is a lot of corn and grain, very earthy with ethanol on the nose. Finish is decent but with lingering corn. Not super impressed.
