Hennessy VS Cognac

This cognac is very smooth but I do not like how strong the fruit notes are on this. All I could smell was raisins. The finish was also way too fruity. Would probably be good mixed though!

This is my introduction to Brandy in general. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would. Has a grassy smell that reminds me of the pure sugarcane rums that I've tried. That goes into the palate, but then it ends with a sweet grape and fig taste.

Nose - syrupy grape, fig, vanilla, brown sugar, dates, raisin, molasses, honey, butterscotch, light barrel spice, mild ethanol burn. Taste - grape, vanilla, butterscotch, spicy oak, fig, honey, raisin, moderate alcohol bite, finishing quickly with fading grape, vanilla, and rum flavors. I expected much worse. I agree that this would be better relegated to mixer status, but other than being a bit cloying, it’s not a terrible sipper.
