Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged

A little light for my palate but quite good at this price. Worth stepping up from white label Beam.

The first bottle of bourbon I ever purchased. It was affordable. An enjoyable drink, nice and easy. Sweet but not overly so, oaky, vanilla. Slightly chemically tasting in my opinion, not as rich as more expensive bourbons (but that’s to be expected).

Oak and pepper nose. The flavor is quite thin. Some oak char, bit if apricot.  Strong finish though, strangely enough. More oak and a bit of spice, vanilla and mint.

For the money this is a good pour. I mainly use this when I’m introducing someone new to bourbon because I feel it’s an easy drinker. It’s not a bad daily drinker. I pay under 20.00 a bottle.
