Lot No. 40 Dark Oak

Nutmeg, chocolate, mahogany on the nose, woody and dark chocolate on the palate, lingering wood finish

If you are a Lot 40 fan, this is a must purchase. Wonderful Rye. Bold, spicy, and rich with fruit. I feel it moves farther down into the fruit, cherry notes than the regular Lot 40. Sometimes it comes up to me as a bit artificial.

Full bodied lot 40, syrup, fruit and spice, vanilla, smoke, and oak.

Only had one taste but l prefer the base Lot 40 to this. This one has a warmer baker spice and more vanilla. Base Lot 40 is more of a ginger snap.

This is the Canadian version of Woodford Reserve Double Oak in a Rye. It's all that deep wood flavour, vanilla, caramel, and a little orange... Then add a Rye spice.

Smells of the charred oak barrels. Taste has notes of smoke, floral and spices (clove to me). Well rounded and a tad sweeter than other Rye. (It's still a Rye tho) It's a good option coming from a bourbon guy. Price is Solid for the quality of Product.

First neck pour. Overwhelming black licorice. Not my thing. Hopefully it will change w air.
