Old Crow Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Straight not so good,but as a mixer such as in an old fashioned i love it to four stars!

Rich sharp oaken spicy nose, aromas of shoe polish & leather oil w/ vanilla, smooth spicy white oak sweetness, mild notes of banana & guava, mild silky mouthfeel, w/ a mildly spicy white oak, vanilla finish Tasted Neat in a rocks glass.

Smell: oak, caramel and citrus fruit notes Taste: oak, little honey, citrus fruit, slightly bitter and gentle charred tones in the finish Nothing special, but not half bad

Had at Smoke & Barrel in Washington, DC on April 3, 2015.

I really like this. Just opened a bottle, being apprehensive at best. Pleasantly surprised so much as to have another pour straight after. Really fruity aftertaste. Sounds odd but it works. A realky sweet after taste. One to revisit for me

A ton of vanilla and wood notes. A spice on the nose. A bit musty. Lighter bodied, can tell its not aged long. Almost tastes burnt. Not great.
