Plymouth Gin

Had in Negroni @ Twin Peaks Mesquite: Plymouth gin, Carpano Antica , sweet vermouth, Campari & orange peel. Sweet orange nose. Juniper and sweet orange flavor. Orange juniper finish. Light sweet orange lingering flavor. 3/5

My standard for gin. Juniper dominates, but not a heavy piney-woods scent. Sweet and creamy in the mouth, balanced by dry coriander and cardamom. Vanilla merges with a light lemon peel flavor. Long dry finish, soft and warming. Juniper, herbal spice, citrus, clean and distinctive flavor works in any cocktail. Not as juniper-forward as some London dry gins, but softer and more balanced all around. If I had only one gin on the shelf it would be Plymouth, everyday.

A nice change from the very juniper forward London Dry gins.
