This is one Ive wanted to have for a long time. Actually was going to buy Green Spot but out of stock so this was up. I am a big fan of pot still Irish which is the cats ass imo. Poured neat, nose is fresh cut red apples leaping out of glass. There is some tropical notes as well, when I first opened bottle the coconut was more pronounced. Some rich malt and light woods with a sprinkle of nutmeg finish it off. Palate is powerful hit of malty vanilla, more coconut and county fair caramel apple. Its got some heat and spice with a bold flavor delivery. Barrel steps up on the finish overtaking the creamy mouthfeel leaving fading vanilla and spiced apple alongside the tannins. This has got to be one of the most in your face Irish whiskies Ive had. Great flavor but drinks a little hotter than proof. Its a winner for sure but does not supplant the lusciously smooth Redbreast for me. If you like your Irish on the bold spicy side ymmv. I would like to see if open ageing smooths it out at all but its tasty enough that Im better than halfway through already......85/100
