Excellent. Just a little burn on the first note, but extremely flavorful. Tasted vanilla and cinnamon. Not much in the fruit or floral side. Finishes with a hint of allspice (maybe). 1 small ice cube really opened it up for me.
This was a store pick from Cox’s Spirit Shoppe, Louisville, 2018. Barrel #3085, Rickhouse O, Floor 5
Nose: orange, spices, corn, leather
Palate: baking spices
Finish: medium, quite smooth for a 110 proof, more spices maybe cinnamon
I actually like 101 more overall (4*) but this is an interesting branch of the WT family.
Nose is very similar to Russel's Reserve 10, just an amped up version. Smells like a shoe store with spilled orange juice on the floor. The usual vanilla and a bit of spice also accompanies the above smells. The palette is thick bodies and reminds me of a spicy maple syrup. A bit of chili, a bit of maple syrup, some dark berries, vanilla, and some burnt orange. The finish is medium which leaves you wanting more!
