Reviewed July 13, 2021 (edited September 27, 2021)Spicy and earthy rye on the nose. Sweet syrupy scent, roast nuts, marshmallow and marzipan. On the tongue, sweet initially, strong rye flavor, moderate oaky taste, toasted grain, burnt brown sugar, marshmallow, marzipan. Perhaps a hint of maple. It's got a long finish with oak, toasted wood and grain, still quite sweet. It's a bit sweet for my taste, but it's pleasantly drinkable. Good, but not integrated and balanced enough to be great. -

Reviewed May 24, 2021 (edited July 15, 2021)NOSE: OAK, sticky dried dark fruit, baking spice, cocoa, herbal, Twizzlers, char and slightly nutty notes. Holy cow this is dense… DENSE I SAY and crazy darkly fruity under the heavy oak. It’s lovely just to sit and sniff. PALATE: OAK, sticky dried dark fruit, baking spice, cocoa, herbal, Twizzlers, char and slightly nutty notes sit as a carbon copy of the aroma but with deeper oak and dark fruit notes. Seriously, oak just pummels through this Sagamore Spirit Double Oak, but the supporting notes are strong enough to band together, balance it out and stabilize the whiskey. FINISH: Long -> Oak, dark fruit and spice fade out warmly and dryly. -
