Starward Two-Fold Double Grain

(Straight, no resting.) Creme Brulee is the exact smell. Taste starts with peaty sugars followed with a hint of dried fruits and red wine, a waft of herbaceousness, then the finish is spiced malts and cereals. Leaves a hint of vanilla oiliness lingering on the tongue which is truly delightful.

Vanilla with a hint of strawberry at the end. Gets much better as it opens up. I paired with a dark chocolate cigar and it was great, think dark chocolate and strawberries.

An interesting new blend that is very malty, bready and sweet. Very drinkable and approachable, with a decent dose of Shiraz hitting the front of the palate. Rather than serving this on the rocks, this excels as a straight whiskey; warm, toasty and light, yet with a depth of body. At the end of the day, it is the wine that lingers on the tongue. A fun and friendly spirit that is another welcome addition to the Starward portfolio.
