Sweet and spicy. You initially get the barrel spice and cinnamon on the nose, but at the same time you get sweet corn and vanilla. Rather than the spice fading as it finishes, it smolders and sticks around.
Oak, vanilla, caramel, spearmint, and cake frosting aromas are partially clouded by the fiery plume of heavy char and hefty ABV. It opens up more on the palate with plenty of sweet brown sugar, cinnamon syrup, spearmint, and peanut brittle before a pleasant buttery finish of toffee, cherry, and wood spice. While brash and alcoholic, it is more tempered than most affordably-priced barrel proof bourbons. Good value
