I was so enamoured with the specialty peated offering I was excited to try their dedicated sherry cask. Love me some sherried scotch Glendronich being the top dog imo. Can Balvenie do it again....yep sure can. While its not quite at the level of GD18 its absolutely fantastic. Total sherry bomb that tastes much older than statement, I would have guessed 18-21 its that refined. Poured neat/drop nose is outstanding. Deep rich dark fruits assault the senses. Black cherry, prune, dates, blackberry along with dose of malt and barrel wood. Spice is held in check this is a docile affair. Mouthfeel is a little thin but dont worry flavors are strong. Its blended heavy fruits , some light spice and oaky malt from nose with a bit of novacaine. Very soothing and comforting without tannic or sulphur notes to interfere. Finish is lasting fruity malt and toasty oak with a cooling menthol. Delicious with the lightly honeyed Balvenie new make signature present throughout. I am still in the GD camp but this is easily a go if you are a sherryhead. I paid $110 and think its worth it .....93/100.....wonderful scotch with a strong drinkability factor. You look up and half the bottle is gone

GD 15 was here and gone in a flash for me but this is abundant and likely my next purchase. Should probably be the last for a while considering I splurged on a 2016 bottling of GD 21. Will be a while before I crack it but in the mean time if you’re interested in swapping some other things take a look at my list and let me know! [email protected]
@WhiskeyLonghorn Ive posted my current bottles in my lists under collection
@Ctrexman I’d be happy to! I’m going to West Texas for the next week or so but when I get back, we can arrange something. In the meantime take a look at my bourbon collection under my lists to see if there’s something you haven’t tried yet.
@WhiskeyLonghorn You know what, I think maybe we should trade some samples. Let me know if you are interested. Im sure we can work out details as we are local to each other
@WhiskeyLonghorn Youre right, This is true GD is better but this is good enough to purchase. Plus we all like to try new flavors...
Only problem I can see is that the GD 15 is $80 at Specs all the time and damn tasty too!
