Full disclosure - I believe their FP version of 1792 is among the best FP offerings available. In a blind tasting I would likely choose 1792 FP over the likes of Weller FP but short of some EC BP. Regardless, if you are a fan of the 1792 FP profile this is simply a lower proof rendition.
Golden orange. Lovely aroma of bread pudding, vanilla icing, cloves, cinnamon, unripe banana. Perhaps the slightest bit of leather but overall a wonderful mix of baked goods aromas.
Lots of clove and cinnamon roll up front on the palate with a bit of wet pipe tobacco then a bit of a sour fruit and vanilla note into a moderate finish. This checks all my boxes. Coming in at something like $39 this is an absolute steal and definite re-buy whenever I come across it.

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington it is amazing how marketing alone can make bottles with nearly identical contents taste completely different. 😁
@whiskeyrunner78 the re-branding of brown liquid is a mystery unto itself - there must be 20 versions of Evan Williams here in KY that Heaven Hill sells under different names. Per @ghill40509 they have hundreds of brands trademarked they just sit on until they need to pull one out
Spot on review. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a bottle of 1792 bib since last fall. I have one of the discontinued Very Old Barton bib that I've heard is very similar to the 1792 bib. We shall see.
@BeppeCovfefe agree the price is unbeatable and I feel like the complexity is at or above a JD BP (at least close)
@dubz480 it seems like Barton products get worse about that with age - some of the NDP 13 year stuff comes across like overripe bananas and splinters to me but I would say the banana is there but still a little green and not in the forefront
didnt the black label win a SF gold medal last year? I get that some just don't like that profile but I love it myself, and it's one of the few Full Proofs still under 50$.
Nice review as always! We have been spoiled out here in Phoenix with multiple store picks of this and full proof. Great VFM for sure! I will say though that I always get a dominant banana note in the BiB not in a bad way but it's always there for me
Love me some 1792 FP. I didn’t particularly like a single barrel I tried, but haven’t explored the rest of the range. This sounds tasty.
