Tart apples and spice on the palate. This is one heavy burn 🔥 to hold on the tongue, but the reward is cascade of bright apples, ginger, and allspice! The finish is long and full of more orchard fruits.
A complex and rewarding dram which will take a few more tastings to get to know.
… it’s been about a week since I tasted this for the first time and I’ve now taken some time to explore it some more.
Adding water to it helps to mellow out the burn and bring out more spice and apples.
I usually drink my whiskey neat, but this is a delight with an ice cube! The nose is full of vanilla, the palate is thick and sweet like caramel, but letting it warm up in your mouth you’re treated to a burst of warming ginger sticky toffee pudding. The finish is loooong with lingering red apples.
